Farro is a type of wheat. Farro is the grain of an ancient type of wheat, einkorn, emmer, and spelt berries can make farro. Barley can be interchanged with farro and modern wheat berries can be cooked in a similar way to farro. Wholegrain farro needs overnight soaking and 40 minutes cooking. other types of farro have part or all the bran removed. Those are easier to cook but less healthy than wholegrain. [1][2]
