Recently, morning smoothies have become a part of our daily routine. With all of the stone fruit showing up in our CSA box, coupled with the abundance of berries that we have picked, we had no choice but get creative. And it really has become an adventure for all of us, gathering around the blender in the morning to taste test our latest experiment. Most work, some don’t. But we have good fun, either way. This week, I decided to take advantage of my kids’ enthusiasm for our morning smoothies and Go Green. I am always looking for yummy ways to get some green veggies in them – why not smoothies? And it worked! After eyeing the blender with a great deal of suspicion, they gave it a try and actually liked it. My littlest even came back for seconds. Aside from being a huge success with the younger crowd, smoothies are also a super simple and easy way to fuel up in the morning. Whether it is the fiber in kale, protein in greek yogurt or the antioxidants in berries, all provide a nourishing (and filling) way to start your day. ENJOY!
